Landon Knack Back in the Race for the Postseason
With recent injuries to key players including Gabriel Moreno and Daulton Varsho, the Blue Jays have promoted Landon Knack from Triple-A Buffalo.
Knack played in 33 games with Buffalo, slashing .273/.460/.579 with six home runs and 29 RBIs.
The 25-year-old catcher has plus power and a good eye at the plate. He has also thrown out 29% of would-be base stealers this season.
Knack made his major league debut with the Blue Jays in 2021, playing in 18 games. He hit .222/.311/.444 with two home runs and five RBIs.
With the Blue Jays currently sitting in a wild-card spot, Knack's bat could provide a much-needed boost to the offense.
He will likely split time behind the plate with Danny Jansen, who has been struggling offensively this season.
Knack's promotion is a sign that the Blue Jays are not giving up on their playoff hopes despite the recent injuries.
They are hoping that Knack can provide some pop to the lineup and help them make a run at the postseason.
