Ford Recalls Nearly 100K SUVs & Trucks Over 'Catastrophic' Problem- F-150, Broncos, and Explorers Included
What's The Issue?
Ford has recalled nearly 100,000 SUVs and trucks due to a "catastrophic" problem that could cause the driveshaft to separate from the vehicle, resulting in a loss of power and potentially leading to a crash.
The recall affects certain 2021-2022 Ford F-150, Bronco, and Expedition vehicles, as well as the 2022 Lincoln Navigator.
Which Vehicles Are Affected?
- 2021-2022 Ford F-150
- 2021-2022 Ford Bronco
- 2021-2022 Ford Expedition
- 2022 Lincoln Navigator
What To Do If Your Vehicle Is Affected
If you own one of the affected vehicles, Ford recommends that you stop driving it immediately and contact your local Ford dealer to schedule a free repair.
Ford has also set up a website where you can check if your vehicle is included in the recall and schedule a repair appointment: https://www.ford.com/support/recalls/
Additional Information
Ford says that it is not aware of any accidents or injuries related to this issue, but it is recalling the vehicles out of an abundance of caution.
The company is still investigating the cause of the problem, but it believes that it is related to a supplier-provided driveshaft component.
Ford expects to have the recall completed by the end of June 2023.
