United States Women's National Team Unveils Roster for 2024 Paris Olympics
Emma Hayes Announces 18-Player Squad and Alternates
WEB CHICAGO, June 26, 2024: Head coach Emma Hayes of the US Women's National Team (USWNT) has released the official 18-player roster and four alternates for the upcoming 2024 Paris Olympic Games.
Roster Highlights
The highly anticipated roster features a blend of experienced veterans and promising newcomers:
- Goalkeepers: Alyssa Naeher, Jane Campbell
- Defenders: Becky Sauerbrunn, Tierna Davidson, Abby Dahlkemper
- Midfielders: Lindsey Horan, Sam Mewis, Julie Ertz
- Forwards: Alex Morgan, Mallory Pugh, Sophia Smith
Alternates
Along with the 18-player roster, Hayes also named four alternates who will travel with the team to Paris:
- Emily Sonnett (Defender)
- Catarina Macario (Midfielder/Forward)
- Megan Rapinoe (Forward)
- Ashley Sanchez (Defender)
Team Preparation
The USWNT will participate in several pre-Olympic exhibitions to finalize preparations. The team is scheduled to face Germany in Paris on July 12, 2024, before traveling to Japan for the SheBelieves Cup from July 21-28.
The 2024 Paris Olympics mark the fifth Olympic Games appearance for the USWNT, which has won four gold medals and a silver medal in previous editions.
