Air Greenland Resumes Direct Flights Between Nuuk and Iqaluit
Flights Set to Resume on June 26, 2024
Service Suspended in 2015 Due to Low Demand
After a seven-year hiatus, Air Greenland has announced the resumption of direct flights between Nuuk, Greenland, and Iqaluit, Canada. The first flight is scheduled to depart from Iqaluit on June 26, 2024, at 3:15 pm.
The Nuuk-Iqaluit route was originally launched in 2012 as an 11-week trial service. Due to low demand, the route was suspended in 2015. However, recent increased demand for travel between the two cities has prompted Air Greenland to reinstate the service.
The resumption of direct flights between Nuuk and Iqaluit is expected to provide greater convenience and flexibility for travelers. Previously, passengers had to make a stopover in Kangerlussuaq, Greenland, which added significant travel time and cost.
Air Greenland is confident that the reinstated Nuuk-Iqaluit route will be successful. The airline is committed to providing safe, reliable, and affordable air travel services to the communities it serves.
